Webinar #2 | Master Personas & Messaging

Last updated: January 20, 2026

Overview | TL;DR:

This webinar focuses on a common gap in customer setups: personas that look “fine” but don't consistently produce replies because the audience definition, persona inputs, or editing approach isn't aligned with how AiSDR prioritizes rules.

Yuriy walks through what makes personas perform well, how to use feedback vs. “pro-level” persona editing, and which persona sections have the highest priority (custom instructions first). The session also includes walkthroughs of Inbox and AI Account Scoring (valuable for Hubspot users) and ends with practical Q&A on campaign operations.

Key takeaways

Messaging quality is driven by audience clarity, not AI creativity

The strongest-performing messaging comes from clear audience definition, not from increasingly complex prompts. Personas perform best when the audience description is narrow, specific, and aligned with a real buying context. When the audience is vague, AI compensates with generic messaging; when the audience is precise, messaging becomes naturally relevant and persuasive.

Custom personas outperform templates when the value proposition is known

Creating personas directly in the Campaign Builder from a single, proven email remains the most reliable approach when you already understand what resonates with an audience. In this flow, AI mirrors the structure, tone, and angle of that email rather than inventing messaging from scratch—leading to higher consistency and conversion.

Templates and persona styles are most valuable when you don’t yet have a validated angle and need a tested starting point.

Persona iteration should follow a clear hierarchy

Effective persona tuning follows a strict order of operations:

  1. Preview sequence feedback for fast, high-level iteration

  2. Custom Instructions for enforcing non-negotiable rules (tone, CTA behavior, wording constraints)

  3. Email structure and follow-up rules for deeper control

Skipping this hierarchy leads to frustration, as lower-priority edits will be overridden by higher-priority instructions. Custom Instructions always win.

Follow-ups convert better when they add value before pushing meetings

Default persona behavior intentionally balances meeting asks with added value in follow-ups.

This approach increases reply rates by giving prospects a reason to engage beyond scheduling. If a campaign requires more aggressive meeting pushes, this must be explicitly enforced via Custom Instructions—otherwise the system will favor value-led follow-ups.

Persona context determines research depth and relevance

When personas are built using the Personas tab, the audience description directly guides AI research into current priorities, challenges, and language. Supplying relevant website links and case studies enables AI to ground messaging in realistic proof points instead of abstract benefits, improving credibility and response quality.

Inbox shifts reply handling from monitoring to action

The Inbox feature centralizes email and LinkedIn replies and prioritizes conversations through classification and filtering. Its value lies in helping teams focus on responses that matter, respond faster, and intervene only when needed—rather than monitoring every outbound message.

AI Account Scoring applies outbound logic to existing CRM data

AI Account Scoring extends Live AI research to HubSpot company lists, enabling teams to evaluate existing accounts against custom signals such as growth, leadership changes, or event intent. This unlocks more targeted outbound, expansion, and re-engagement campaigns without relying solely on net-new lead searches

Lead addition flexibility supports different GTM workflows

AiSDR supports multiple paths for adding leads—continuing an existing search, launching a new search, uploading CSVs, or manual entry—reflecting the reality that teams use different systems of record. Understanding these flows helps avoid confusion and ensures leads are added to the intended campaign.

Q&A highlights

How to change follow-ups so they push for a meeting instead of offering info?

Custom instructions are updated first (highest priority). If that isn’t enough, follow-up email rules and samples are edited next.

How to add more leads to an existing campaign?

Inside the campaign: Campaign → Edit → Add leads

Then you can:

  • Continue the existing search, or

  • Run a new search (this opens the campaign builder but adds results back into the existing campaign), or

  • Add leads via domain/person search, CSV upload, or manual lead creation (depending on setup).

How to get leads from AiSDR into a CRM without integrations?

Export is not available as a self-serve option in the UI; it is handled via a request to customer success manager for a CSV export.

Is pausing campaigns during holidays a good idea?

It depends on the industry. Some pause campaigns, while others continue and still see replies. The “right” decision depends on whether prospects are active during that period.
