Why Do I See a Suppressed Lead in My Campaign?
Last updated: December 5, 2025
If you notice that a lead you added to the suppression list still appears in your campaign, don’t worry — this is expected behavior.
🧩 Why This Happens
Even if a suppressed email or domain is already on the suppression list, the system may still allow the lead to be added to a campaign during lead import or list creation.
However, no outreach will be sent to that lead — here's how it works:
🔍 What the System Does
Suppressed leads may appear in the campaign view for transparency.
Once the campaign is activated, AiSDR automatically runs a suppression check.
Any lead matching an entry in the suppression list (by email or domain) will be:
✅ Automatically closed
✅ Excluded from messaging
✅ Visible as "Closed" in the campaign interface for reference
Important: Once a lead is closed due to suppression, it will remain closed even if you later remove it from the suppression list. To reactivate these leads, you’ll need to re-create the campaign or message us on Slack or via help@aisdr.com.
🧠 Summary
Behavior | What You’ll See |
Suppressed lead added to a campaign | Lead appears in the list |
Campaign is activated | System checks all leads |
Match found in suppression list | Lead is automatically closed and skipped |
No action is needed on your part — this process ensures compliance and protects your outreach integrity while keeping campaign views consistent.
